This carefully crafted route links the stunning Azzaden Valley with the lush Imnane Valley, crossing high-altitude passes with breathtaking panoramic views at every turn.
Starting from Marrakech, the journey leads you into a world of terraced fields, walnut groves, and traditional mud-built villages where time seems to stand still. Each day offers a perfect balance of scenic hiking, cultural encounters, and optional summit climbs for those seeking extra challenge. With comfortable guesthouse stays and delicious home-cooked meals, this trek combines adventure with genuine hospitality.
Highlights :
Your journey begins with a morning transfer from Marrakech to the trailhead at Imi Oughlad (approx. 1.5 hours). Here you meet your trekking team and begin your hike into the High Atlas Mountains.
The trail ascends gradually through juniper forests and open hillsides toward the Tizi n’Tacht pass (2020 m), offering your first sweeping views over the valleys below. After enjoying the scenery, descend into the picturesque Azzaden Valley, passing terraced farms and small Berber hamlets.
Arrive at Ait Ouaougmout village, where you’ll spend the night in a traditional guesthouse.

Elevation gain: +600 m
Elevation loss: -400 m
Accommodation: Berber guesthouse
After breakfast, continue your trek with a steady climb toward Tizi Mzik pass (2489 m). This is one of the most scenic crossings of the trek, offering panoramic views over the Imlil Valley and distant peaks, including Mount Toubkal.
For those with extra energy, an optional ascent to Tasghimout summit (2700 m) rewards you with even more dramatic views.
Descend towards the beautiful village of Aroumd (Aremd), one of the largest and most traditional villages in the region.

Today’s trek takes you across another stunning mountain pass, Tizi n’Tamatert, connecting the Imlil Valley to the peaceful Imnane Valley. The ascent is gradual, passing orchards and traditional villages.
At the pass, enjoy sweeping views over both valleys. Adventurous hikers can opt for an additional climb to Talamrout summit (2670 m), offering a rewarding panoramic perspective.
Descend into the Imnane Valley, known for its authenticity and less-traveled paths, and continue to Amsakrou village for your overnight stay.
Walking time: 5–6 hours (7 hours with summit)
Elevation gain: +700 m
Elevation loss: -600 m
Accommodation: Berber guesthouse
On your final day, enjoy a scenic hike from Amsakrou back toward Imlil, crossing the Tizi Agersioual pass. The trail offers beautiful final views of the Atlas landscapes, walnut groves, and traditional villages.
Arrive in Imlil, where your driver will meet you for the return journey to Marrakech.

Accommodation: Not included (end of trek)

This trek is available to be booked independently (including transfers from Marrakech) or we can put together a full itinerary and quote to combine your trek with any of Marrakech, Essaouira, The Atlantic Coast and Sahara Desert
The Accommodation will be in a simple berber Gite at Tizi oussem Village.
Camping is an option if prefered (june-Octo).
NB : If accommodation is required in the Atlas Mountains either before or after the trek, we can always book you at Dar Adrar in Imlil or in Eco-loge in Ouirgane or Riad View Point in Marrakech.

This trek is suitable for individuals with moderate to high fitness levels. Some sections are challenging but manageable with proper preparation.
The ideal time is from April to October, offering pleasant weather and clear views. Winter months are also possible but may require additional gear for snow.
Yes, dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. Inform the organizer when booking.
Mules will carry your main luggage, allowing you to trek with a small daypack containing essentials like water, snacks, and a camera.
Find the trek you are interested in then contact us via E-mail to discuss your trek and check availability. Once the details of your trek (duration, route and number of people) have been agreed, we will make a provisional booking, giving the dates and cost.
To confirm your booking we ask you to pay a 20% deposit. This can be in Euros, pounds sterling or US dollars online via bank account. The balance is paid in Morocco by cash – again in Euros, sterling or dollars – at the beginning of the trek.
NB: if you can’t carry cash, you can always pay again the balance online by bank few days before departure.
