3 Days From Marrakech To Sahara Desert Merzouga is ideally situated at 40km from Erfoud and 40km from Rissani, known for its magical dunes in which are the highest in the Moroccan Sahara desert.
Within the last few years, it has become one of the most visited places in southern Morocco combined with tours around the high Atlas Mountains and the imperial cities. Sahara tours allow travelers to see the stunning sunsets and sunrises by camel, enjoy a magnificent display of the stars in the night sky and experience the amazing hospitality, cooking, and traditional way of life of the local Berber people.

Within the last few years, it has become one of the most visited places in southern Morocco combined with tours around the high Atlas Mountains and the imperial cities.
We’ll depart from Marrakech at 7:00 am by minibus and travel over the Atlas Mountains, cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m), the highest mountain road pass in Morocco, where we can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding areas including the zigzagging road below.
On the way to Ouarzazate, we will visit the fortified and famous Ksars and Kasbahs of Aït Benhaddou. Continuing onwards to Ouarzazate you’ll see the beauty of Valley of the Roses and Kellat Mgouna. Leaving the main road and driving to Dades Valley we’ll continue through the small city of Tinghir to the magnificent Todra Gorges. From here we will overnight at a quiet hotel/Riad.
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll visit the Todra Gorges and make our way to Merzouga through several beautiful desert towns; Tinjdad, Erfoud & Rissani.
Before sunset we’ll get ready for the camel trek from Merzouga to Erg Chebbi (2hrs), overnight at the nomadic camp in the heart of the highest dunes in Morocco (150m), enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, perhaps a little entertainment, and drum party. You can choose to sleep under the stars or in tents at our desert camp.
Wake up early to enjoy the views of the sunrise in the desert, after breakfast, join the camels again to ride back by a different way over the dunes to return to our waiting vehicle in Merzouga. We’ll take the way back through Alnif, Tazzarine, and a part of the long Draa valley before arriving at Agdez and then continuing to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m). Expected arrival back to Marrakech around 7 pm.
